[Electrical Designer] Senior Design Specialist (Electrical Designer) - Aiken, SC

Education & Experience:
An associates degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 - 12 years of work experience or 12 - 16 years of practical work experience.

Top Skills & Years of Experience:
1. Required work experience shall include at least 8 years of experience as an Electrical Designer.
2. Requires an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials, construction methods, and relevant computer applications. Applies advanced principles and practices in engineering to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner.
3. Candidate must demonstrate working knowledge of National Census Codes and Standards for electrical design such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, and OSHA.
4. Significant recent, with-in the last 5 years, experience with 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design is required.
5. Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing

Nice to Have:
1. Previous CLIENT Design experience or DOE facility experience is preferred.
2. Formal training in Computer Aided Design is preferred.
3. Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years is preferred.

DUTIES
Provide Electrical Designer staff augmentation support to CLIENT. Primary duties include design development, and generation of design output documents in the following areas: Equipment Layout, Grounding, Raceway Layout, Lighting Systems, and Schematics, Connection and Wiring Diagrams. Design services shall be provided using CLIENT processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by CLIENT.
