DESCRIPTION:

(Ansi 18.1-1971 & Ansi/Ans 3.1-1998 Qualified) Academic: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent And Related Technical Training Applicable To The Area Of Employment. Certification By The National Registry Of Radiation Protection Technologists Is Desirable.

Experience: More Than Two Years Of Experience In The Area In Which Technician Is Employed.

Education And Experience/Certificates, Licenses, And Registration Requirements/Other Requirements :
Ansi 18.1 Qualifications - Shall Have A Minimum Of Two Years Of Working Experience In Their Specialty. Should Have A Minimum Of One Year Of Related Technical Training In Addition To Their Experience.
A.S. Degree In Health Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, Physical Science, Life Science, Or Computer Science Or A Comparable Field Of Study Is Preferred. Must Be Able To Obtain And Maintain Unescorted Nuclear Plant Access And S-3 And S-4 Medical

Qualifications When Applicable: Must Be Able And Willing To Assume On-Call Rotational Assignments Which May Include 24-Hour-A-Day, 7-Day-A-Week Availability. Must Be Willing And Medically Able To Work Rotating Shifts And Maximum Overtime Permitted By Npg Procedures During Peak Periods. Must Be Able And Willing To Travel To Plant Locations As Required When Performing Assigned Tasks And, As Necessary, To Be Temporarily Assigned To A Field Location. The Position Requires The Use Of Protective Clothing And Work In Areas With Elevated Temperatures, High Noise Backgrounds, Asbestos, Radiation, And Other Industrial Hazards.
