Job Description
The Project Manager 2 is responsible for leading projects valued at $500K+ and overseeing Superintendent 2s as needed. This role involves investigating abnormal events, incidents, and accidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
As a Control Account Manager (CAM), responsibilities include:
Planning, budgeting, and managing costs and schedules for projects or subprojects.
Serving as a point of contact for project controls, including scope, schedule, budget, and technical performance.
Ensuring work packages align with realistic duration and budget requirements.
Conducting variance analysis reviews, identifying causes of cost/schedule variances, and defining corrective actions.
Presenting project performance plans, status updates, trends, and issues to federal sponsors.
Flexible schedule required (Days and Graves).
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management: Direct and manage workers, work schedules, project progress, and resource allocation.
Construction Project Management: Oversee scope, schedule, and budget with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
Risk Management: Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and recommend risk acceptance or avoidance.
Facility & Construction Expertise:
Lead constructability reviews and evaluate impacts on cost and schedule.
Manage facility maintenance, systems engineering, safety, configuration management, and work control systems.
Labor & Safety Compliance:
Extensive knowledge of collective bargaining agreements across all trades.
Deep understanding of work hazards, safety protocols, and lockout/tag-out procedures.
Ability to interpret blueprints, mechanical, and electrical schematics.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with customers, program managers, and line management.
Provide leadership in health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Develop clear action plans to address project challenges.
Communication & Reporting:
Deliver project status updates to senior management and regulatory agencies.
Prepare oral and written reports detailing project progress and risks.
Utilize computerized work management systems to track and coordinate materials and equipment deliveries.
Foster open communication, trust, and teamwork within the organization.
Education Requirements
AA, BAS, BS (or currently pursuing) or PMP certification.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of work experience, including 5+ years in engineering, procurement, or construction.
Strong understanding of project management principles and responsibilities.
Active Q-clearance and A-level access.
Nuclear experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
DOE and/or NRC experience in engineering/construction projects.
Training or experience in radiation protection or industrial hygiene.
