Senior Quality Control Engineer
US Citizenship Required - 1 position
SRNS @ SRS, Aiken, SC
RFQ# 1363 / contract: 1 year with 2 opt years / Deadline 5/1/2025


SUMMARY:
Provide quality control support to the project team and direct personnel on implementing quality requirements and accurately tracking the results. Perform construction quality control inspection and surveillance activities in support of the project and/or maintenance activities.
Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training and obey safety rules. And make safety an integral part of each task. Take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or will create a dangerous condition.
Review design output documents in accordance with approved procedures to establish inspection requirements in quality assurance procedures, construction plans, and/or work packages.
Coordinate with internal and external sources to resolve quality issues and provide the status of the inspection/test activities for the work activity.
Review technical criteria, personnel qualifications, and work sequence on work packages, including the notation of hold points before performance of inspections.
Perform or direct the quality inspection activities of subordinate QC engineers and other inspection personnel as assigned. Assist in the resolution of code, specifications, and drawing interpretations.
Perform or supervise the performance of inspection, witness, test, surveillance, and document the results of the inspection activities. Assess the completeness of construction activities and quality verification documentation before preparing quality control releases for turnover.
Review subcontractor's quality program for compliance with established procedures, attends mobilization meetings, and monitors their activities for proper implementation.
Review suppliers and/or subcontractors' quality verification documentation for traceability and specification compliance.
Review, assess, and update subcontractors' costs, manpower, and materials. Approve subcontract invoices and payment applications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 - 7 years of practical experience in
Construction inspection or related areas.
OR AN
Associate's degree and 7 - 9 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent.
OR A
High school diploma and 10 - 14 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Certification, along with ongoing technical training, is required for the performance of inspections and surveillance activities. Specialized training may also be required to support certain technical areas.
The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) �Q� security clearance.
A minimum of (7) years of experience in quality control for construction projects. This should include at least 2 years of experience on projects requiring NQA�1 pedigree.
Practical field experience in civil/structural quality control.
Experienced and knowledgeable in Civil Concrete Placement and Structural Steel installation.
Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to civil and structural steel, by Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
Perform field-related inspections by Quality Control Inspection Plans. Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-Conformance reports as required.
Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment.
