Job Title: Civil Field Rebar Engineer
Location: Burlington, Kansas
Duration: ASAP through March 30, 2026
Travel/Per Diem: Per diem/expenses will be covered for non-locals
Job Description
System One is seeking a Civil Field Rebar Engineer to support rebar-related activities for our client on-site in Burlington, KS. Candidates must have nuclear experience. This role will be integral in ensuring the quality and compliance of rebar installation with all engineering, design, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in daily safety briefings
Provide engineering support for construction and project activities
Support implementation and review of rebar fabrication drawings
Monitor and oversee construction field activities
Timely review and follow-up on submitted test reports
Coordinate responses to Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Perform technical reviews of procedures and ensure compliance with licensing documents
Consult with Fabrication Engineer for any deviations from rebar drawings
Ensure adherence to scaffolding and OSHA standards
May perform other duties as required
Requirements
Valid driver�s license and ability to obtain a Real ID by May 7 or an approved alternative
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test for nuclear site badge eligibility
Familiarity with scaffolding regulations and OSHA standards (e.g., span, overhand, mid/top rail requirements)
Proficient in layout and elevation surveying using standard tools (including hand and optical)
Experience establishing control points or 3D datums using projection/templates
Strong understanding of formwork installation, drawing interpretation, and in-field inspections
Basic understanding of trigonometry (for alignment purposes)
Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and generating layout maps from design documents
Ability to interpret design criteria and assess in-field changes or requests
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ACI codes: 318, 347, 301, 315, 117, 347 (or SP-004)
Experience with rebar or formwork design beyond field engineer level, including:
Rebar detailing to ACI 318, 315, and aSa standards
Designing temporary structures (formwork, scaffolding)
Basic timber design
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
5�10 years of construction experience
Experience in the nuclear industry Required
