Senior Fellow Engineer (Nuclear & Criticality Safety)
US Citizenship Required - 1 position

SRNS @ SRS, Aiken, SC $110-$133/hour

RFQ# 1370 / contract: 1 year + 2 option years / Deadline May 6, 2025


SUMMARY:

Initiate own technical programs, solve complex technical problems using both internal and external knowledge databases, bring high technical credibility in field of expertise to the organization, recognize all aspects of SRNS needs in field of knowledge, lead teams to solve complex technical problems. Apply technical expertise in the field of specialization or possess broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and utilize other technical resources within the company to resolve complex problems. Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features, such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes, and complex coordination or oversight requirements into problem-solving and program planning. Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in functional areas of technical knowledge. Recommend engineering and technical research programs for others in the group and assist in their planning. Develop solutions to complex technical problems in areas of expertise, be responsive to the organization's needs in addressing complex issues where judgment is also required, organize and lead task teams to solve problems, and fully utilize technical resources within the company to assist in developing solutions. Identify technical areas where individual specialized knowledge can solve complex technical programs of interest to the company and the DOE, and take the initiative in this effort. Is often ahead of management in recognizing the need. Prepare plans, including schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements, to address significant technical tasks within the department. Develop schedules, monitor progress, track budget expenditures, and review the quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, and quality assurance requirements. Communicate results verbally and in manuscript form. The candidate will not have direct oversight responsibilities for personnel and will not be involved in assigning tasks or responsibilities. The candidate will provide documents, presentations, and general support and coordination needed to complete assigned tasks. May mentor less senior professionals in communication skills. Maintain technical expertise and bring credibility to the organization by earning recognition as a technical expert from the company and the DOE through activities such as internal and external technical reports and publications, involvement in national professional organizations, and making significant contributions toward achieving the Site's mission and goals. Mentor less senior professionals as a means of transferring technical knowledge and insight. Recommend engineering and technology research, development, and application programs for others, and assist in planning such programs.


Typically an advance degree and experience -A Ph.D. degree and about 12+ years' experience, OR a MS degree and 15+ years' experience, OR a BS degree and about 18+ years' experience. Please Answer:

Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE �Q� security clearance. Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are

Candidates with direct experience in the application of DOE-STD-3009-2014 and DOE-
