POSITION DESCRIPTION

Keeps assigned applications operational by testing product upgrades, providing customer support and problem-solving customer issues. Plans for information systems and services from a perspective of application design, development, installation or database administration in accordance with SRNS IT processes and procedures. Provides tactical design, engineering, technical specifications, project coordination, and configuration management for moderately complex IT solutions. Assists more senior technical personnel in performing related activities in moderately complex tasks.

Work closely with the Software Professional Lead and the customer/owner to understand and apply your knowledge of the functional and system requirements � Maintain technical expertise in assigned emphasis areas and demonstrate flexibility in multiple disciplines

Proactively communicate and coordinate with others across IT to provide support for assigned areas Perform other tasks associated with application development lifecycle, commercial off the shelf software support and database administration: � Perform root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for complex problems Ensure continued service of customer applications through prompt correction of system or program malfunctions and applying a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities .

Master software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, change management, vulnerability scanning, and debuggers in the software development process.

Guide personnel to ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to technical standards, lead the analysis and development of requirements, design specs, and final products by reviewing systems documentation, plans, and schedules produced by less experienced personnel Train less experienced personnel in the development of requirements, specifications, technical products and existing business processes

Lead moderate sized initiatives and projects by establishing tasks, priorities, milestones, cost estimates, and schedules. Conduct feasibility studies of automation opportunities and establish cost benefit parameters

Develop test plans and execute these plans to ensure that the software is correct � Participate in validation and efficiency reviews of completed program codes. Review policies and procedures for technical accuracy.

Participate in cross functional IT teams, evaluate new requests, offer suggestions to improve, provide comments and estimates level of effort for moderately complex IT solutions.

Provide support for the software infrastructure associated with the system environments, Maintain cyber posture and compliance required to maintain federal authority to operate.

Perform installations and upgrades to software and databases for maintaining vendor support and strategic agility. Plan for future requirements of database systems, to include disaster recovery needs and storage requirements. Protect operations by keeping information confidential.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor�s degree in an IT related discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Technology. Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering) with 5 years proven performance in related assignments; or Non-related Bachelor degree with 7 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or Associate Degree in IT related discipline (e.g. Information Technology, Computer Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering) with 7 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or Non-related Associate Degree with 9 years proven performance in related assignment(s). In lieu of degree, a high school diploma with typically at least 11 years of equivalent knowledge and experience is acceptable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work in a diverse work environment,
Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.

Possesses strong personal computer skills.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE �Q� security clearance. Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA.
Knowledge of the academic as well as the practical aspects of Software Engineering is required. Ongoing technical development in Software Engineering is required.
Demonstrates an applied understanding of computer languages, software development fundamentals/methodology and database infrastructure.
Demonstrates programming skills that include analyzing information, software design, requirements, testing, documentation, problem solving, debugging and software development fundamentals/methodology.
Demonstrate proficiency and experience necessary to develop moderately complex software.
Demonstrates ability to utilize software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, change management, scanning, and debuggers in the software development process.
Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision to complete projects in a timely manner, make time for unplanned assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
Desired Qualifications

Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
5 years� experience (7 years, if nonrelated or associates degree) in developing web-based applications using: Visual Studio, Eclipse, or Spring Tools, NET Framework or Core Java, Java or C#, React, Angular, JS Frameworks, HTML and CSS
3 years� experience with and working knowledge of: SQL Server or Oracle, Service Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, Relational Database Tools (LINQ, TOAD, SSMS)
Working knowledge of SQL, Stored Procedures, etc. ORM Frameworks (Entity Framework, Spring Boot, Azure DevOps, TFS, or similar, Bootstrap, CSS Libraries, Responsive UI, Agile Methodology.

Duration of the Contract: Six (6) Months with the option to extend for Six (6) Months With Two (2) Additional One (1) Year Option

Estimates Hours Per Year: 2080 ST / 800 OT

Anticipated Work Schedule: 6 am - 4:30 pm, M-Thu

Onsite or Remote? 100 % Remote. Can not work in the following states: CA, CO or NY. Must be willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
