GSE Solutions leverages five decades of proven industry experience and is searching for an experienced Part-time Civil/Structural Engineer.
GSE Design & Analysis specializes in providing consulting engineering services to the nuclear utility industry and operating facilities, including studies, calculations, analysis, drawing revisions, etc.
Pay Range- $65.00 to $95.00 an hour, DOE.

Essential Functions:
Plan, conceptualize, and create designs for assigned projects.
Develop and implement testing processes for design validation.
Conduct engineering calculations to support design efforts using both manual methods and software.
Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and work with vendors and contractors.
Maintain detailed documentation to track project development and the design process.
Build relationships with clients through in-person visits and video conferences to support project meetings and identify new business opportunities.
Supports Project Manager/Controls in preparing scopes of work, budgets, and proposal schedules.
Mentor junior engineers and consultants.
Provide support to other engineering disciplines and responsible engineers as needed.

Strong organizational skills & ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
In-depth knowledge of engineering design and analysis principles.
Eagerness to learn new skills and technical areas to better support clients.
Proficient in tools for scheduling, tracking, and managing project timelines and budgets.
Ability to travel as needed.
Education & Experience:
BS Degree in Discipline Engineering or Discipline Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and 2+ years of experience.
5 years of experience in design engineering supporting nuclear projects.
Professional Engineers (PE) License preferred but not required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to perform walkdowns in an industrial or construction environment.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions:
General office environment. (Remote)
Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time.
The working environment is generally favorable.
Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Occasional walk-downs on client job site, which may be an industrial or construction environment.
Ability to obtain unescorted access.
Ability to travel up to 15%.
