Principal Construction Coordinator
Duties
Represent construction management on project teams with ownership of complex projects and/or Work Authorizing Documents (WAD) involving technical, cost, and schedule baselines.
Administer and ensure compliance with elements of the direct hire or subcontract management program across the site.
Develop programmatic changes and enhancements to subcontract management in response to DOE concerns and directives.
Interface with facility management regarding work scope, estimate approvals, and funding; collaborate with project controls and construction execution teams on scope development and planning.
Coordinate all aspects of complex construction projects and maintenance orders from conceptual design to financial closeout.
Review and evaluate labor and material cost reports to identify budget variances and ensure alignment with project goals.
Validate technical scope alignment with baseline schedules and estimates for constructability and approval.
Participate in establishing and approving technical, schedule, and cost baselines for projects and CMOs.
Conduct comprehensive reviews of preliminary scopes, designs, schedules, and estimates for constructability and accuracy.
Monitor project progress to identify and resolve technical, cost, or schedule issues through corrective actions.
Collaborate with project management, DOE, design, procurement, field management, and superintendents to meet milestones safely and cost-effectively.
Work Hours
Standard 40-hour work week.
Possible work schedules include: 5/8s (8 hours/day, 5 days/week), 4/10s (10 hours/day, 4 days/week), or 9/80s (9 hours/day, alternating 5 and 4-day weeks).
Each workday includes a 30-minute lunch break.
Overtime may be required at the discretion of the manager to meet deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline and 1113 years of practical construction experience.
In-depth knowledge of construction costs, scheduling, and strategy evaluation/development.
Associates degree and 1315 years of practical experience, or high school diploma and 1518 years of experience may be considered equivalent.
20 years of experience in a construction coordination role.
Strong understanding of project management, planning, operations, maintenance, startup, construction management, and subcontracts.
Proven ability to develop Scopes of Work, construction schedules, status updates, and pre-planning documents.
Previous experience working on a DOE/NNSA site is required.
Other Required Qualifications
Security clearance is not required for assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with SRNS procedures supporting projects at the Savannah River Site (SRS).
Understanding of the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) work package process.
