[Construction Manager] Construction Manager

Seeking a Construction Manager to oversee field execution of large-scale greenfield power generation projects. The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing contractors and construction activities across all phases of plant construction�from civil works and balance-of-plant to mechanical completion and turnover. Candidates with greenfield construction experience in the oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors will also be considered.

Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day field construction activities across all trades to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient execution aligned with project plans.

Coordinate closely with project managers, engineering, and procurement to align field execution with overall project milestones and priorities.

Oversee all subcontractor activities and enforce compliance with specifications, drawings, scope of work, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Ensure full site readiness prior to mobilization including access, permits, environmental controls, laydown areas, and utilities.

Manage construction site logistics, material deliveries, equipment installation sequencing, and workforce planning.

Monitor productivity and performance of contractors; identify and resolve field issues impacting cost, schedule, and safety.

Support contractor onboarding, safety orientation, and daily pre-task briefings.

Lead construction progress meetings, track open items, manage punch lists, and facilitate issue resolution across disciplines.

Serve as the primary field-level liaison between contractors, engineering, project management, and owner representatives. Ensure consistent, proactive communication and effective resolution of field-level challenges, scope conflicts, and emergent risks that could impact safety, schedule, or cost.

Perform field inspections, verify construction completion for milestone payments, and support commissioning and turnover activities.

Interface with inspectors and permitting agencies as required throughout construction and start-up.

Provide daily and weekly reports on progress, manpower, safety metrics, and risk items to project leadership.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor�s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience in place of education will be considered.

Minimum of 10 years of field construction management experience in the power generation, heavy industrial, or oil & gas industries.

At least 5 years of direct experience managing greenfield power plant construction including site preparation, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation work scopes.

Strong working knowledge of OSHA safety standards, environmental compliance, and quality control programs in utility-scale construction.

Experience managing union and/or non-union field labor and understanding jurisdictional work rules.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and vendor data.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Willingness to travel and remain on project sites as needed throughout construction duration.

Preferred Experience:

Power Generation Industry: Background in utility-scale power projects for natural gas, combined-cycle, and/or coal-fired facilities.

Oil & Gas Sector: Construction oversight on new-build refineries, gas processing plants, or compressor stations with significant mechanical and electrical scopes.

EPC or Owner�s Rep Experience: Prior roles within EPC (engineer, procure, construct) firms or as owner�s construction rep managing subcontractor performance and construction controls.

Heavy Industrial Sites: Experience with large capital projects such as chemical plants, LNG terminals, or manufacturing facilities.

Government-Funded Projects: Familiarity with public sector construction processes including QA/QC audits, documentation, and reporting.

Remote and Multi-Site Projects: Experience on distributed construction programs or greenfield sites with unique logistics and supply chain needs.
