Job Title: Nuclear Licensing Engineer
Location: Covert MI
Duration: 1 year contract with possible extension as projects move forward.
Pay Rate: $80-$120 an hour; pending experiance
Per Diem: GSA Rate

This position requires a "doer" type person. Someone who has prepared licensing documentation in the past.

Description:

1. Provide regulatory support to update and maintain the Palisades safety analysis report (SAR)
2. Provide regulatory support to evaluate, track, and drive past and future commitments to closure as appropriate.
3. Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documents.
4. Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
5. Provide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement project.
6. Provide technical and regulatory support as needed in preparation for or during NRC audits and inspections.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university AND 7+ years of experience in the nuclear industry.
2. Minimum 4 years of regulatory experience in the nuclear industry.
3. Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes.
4. Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design, and operations.
5. Ability to represent the company and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops.
6. Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.
7. Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.
8. Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
9. Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader.
10. Technical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry
