Fellow Engineer / DSA Writer (Nuclear Safety Engineer)
General Duties
� Apply specialized or broad-based technical experience to resolve complex problems.
� Incorporate advanced technical practices and manage challenging features such as special materials, technical requirements, and oversight.
� Provide leadership in problem-solving and be recognized for expertise in technical areas.
� Lead task teams, prepare technical plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor performance.
� Mentor junior engineers and prepare reports for internal and external audiences.
� Maintain awareness of technical trends and capabilities relevant to the business.
SRNS Nuclear & Criticality Safety Engineering Duties
� Support H-Canyon operations through the maintenance and development of safety basis documentation.
� Develop, review, and implement nuclear safety documentation across multiple facilities including H-Canyon, HB-Line, 235-F, F/H Lab, and FCC.
� Assist with writing and maintaining nuclear safety documents, TSRs, LCOs, and technical support documents.
� Ensure documents comply with regulations and that applicable controls are implemented.
� Conduct assessments and maintain Nuclear Safety Program manuals.
� Understand and apply Accident Analysis, USQ, SBRA, and CHAP principles.
� Communicate with DOE representatives, safety committees, and other stakeholders.
Work Hours
� 40-hour scheduled work week using various SRNS schedules including 5/8s, 4/10s, or 9/80s.
� Includes a 30-minute lunch each day.
� Overtime may be required based on deliverables and management discretion.
Required Qualifications
� Ph.D. with 10 years of experience, or MS with 12 years, or BS with 15 years in Nuclear, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry. Please Answer:
� Recognized expert in field, with contributions via publications or professional presentations. Please Answer:
� Proficient in 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, DOE STDs 3009, 1186, 1189, and related directives. Please Answer:
� Capable of contributing safety basis inputs to schedules and performing safety program assessments. Please Answer:
Other Required Qualifications
� Ability to obtain and maintain Q Clearance required. Please Answer:
Preferred Qualifications
� 15 years of experience in nuclear safety document development and maintenance. Please Answer:
� Previous SRS nuclear safety engineering experience preferred. Please Answer:
� Extensive experience writing safety basis documents such as DSA and TSR preferred. Please Answer:
