Project Manager
Seeking a Project Manager with proven heavy commercial nuclear experience completing full-cycle nuclear projects (initiation through closeout) this is a requirement.
Work Location: Full Time on Site in New Mexico
Duration: 11 months +
Rate: is open and non-exempt
Hours: Full time / 40 hours (onsite)
Per diem: $167.00/day (7 days per week)
Mob / Demob: GSA Expenses
Trip Home: 1 paid trip home per month
US Citizenship Required
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing large-scale nuclear construction or facility projects — from initial development through to full project closure — with a focus on budget ownership, risk management, and technical compliance.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate:
Completed project scopes with dollar values and outcomes
Nuclear-specific project ownership: budget, documentation, risk registers
Compliance knowledge: NRC, DOE, NQA-1, 10 CFR 50, 10 CFR 830
Responsibilities:
Manage nuclear construction and modification projects from start to finish — including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout
Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure work meets code and quality standards
Lead field activities, prioritize tasks, and oversee day-to-day work assignments
Conduct project risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
Maintain and track all documentation: WBS, risk registers, cost estimates, quality and safety plans
Ensure compliance with NRC, DOE, OSHA, and INPO requirements
Review and evaluate technical specifications, drawings, and design reports
Monitor project progress and maintain established schedules
Manage consultants and subcontractors to ensure scope, schedule, and quality adherence
Provide technical assistance and oversight during design and execution phases
Coordinate and track change orders, purchase requests, and progress reporting
Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance at all phases
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or related field)
Minimum 7 years of experience in construction/project management (nuclear or heavy industrial preferred)
Proven experience completing full-cycle nuclear projects (initiation through closeout)
Strong knowledge of nuclear regulatory standards including NRC, DOE, INPO, QA/QC, NQA-1, and 10 CFR 50 / 830
Experience with cost controls, risk analysis, and field coordination
Preferred Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) – Highly Preferred
OSHA 30
PE License (if applicable)
Familiarity with construction software and project tracking tools
