(previous commercial nuclear experience desired)
Work Location:
Full Time on Site
Rate: is open and non-exempt
Hours: Full time / 40 hours (onsite)
Per diem: $167.00/day (7 days per week)
Mob / Demob: GSA Expenses
[Trip Home: 1 paid trip home per month
US Citizenship Required

The Project Cost Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing the financial aspects of specific projects to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role involves collaborating with project managers and other stakeholders to track project expenses, maintain financial records, and support decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
• Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to provide insights into project financial performance.
• Assist in the development of project budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.
• Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for budget preparation.
• Analyze project costs and identify trends, variances, and potential areas for cost savings.
• Provide recommendations based on financial analysis to improve project profitability.
• Work closely with project teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Liaise with the finance department to ensure proper accounting practices are followed.
• Maintain detailed financial records for all projects, including invoices, contracts, and receipts.
• Ensure all financial documentation is organized and accessible for audits.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Participate in audits and support the implementation of corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a cost accountant or in a similar role, preferably in project-based environments.
• Must have prior mid-large project experience
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
