[Electrical Designer] I&C Engineer

Airswift is seeking an I&C Engineer to work on a long-term assignment with a leader in the nuclear energy industry. The selected candidate will play a critical role in evaluating and implementing design modifications for nuclear power plant systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining operational excellence.

Responsibilities

� Review and prepare engineering deliverables, including Design/Engineering Change packages, specifications, calculations, and technical evaluations.
� Provide oversight into contracted engineering work to ensure consistency with industry design standards.
� Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), including procedure reviews, approvals, and test observations.
� Collaborate with equipment suppliers and project stakeholders to perform technical evaluations and design reviews.
� Analyze engineering risk, failure modes, and develop mitigation strategies for plant systems.
� Present engineering status updates to team leads, project managers, and leadership.
� Support construction and implementation phases by evaluating design updates, resolving field changes, and addressing technical issues.

Requirements

� Demonstrated experience with nuclear power plant design, systems, and components.
� Strong background in Electrical, Computer, or I&C Engineering.
� Proven ability in technical writing, specification development, and engineering documentation.
� Design Qualification is required and must be clearly reflected on the candidate�s CV.
� Ability to obtain unescorted nuclear access (background screening, fingerprinting, and required training/testing).
� Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
� Strong leadership, collaboration, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

� Nuclear Operations experience (SRO/STA certification preferred).
� Working knowledge of 50.59 evaluations or equivalent regulatory processes.
� Prior qualification in engineering specification writing and approval.
� Familiarity with nuclear power plant electrical distribution systems and instrumentation and control (I&C) systems.
� Experience with Industrial Control Systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
� Demonstrated experience with advanced control system monitoring, testing, and analysis.
� 6+ years of electrical power design engineering experience, preferably in a nuclear power generation environment.
� 10+ years of total industry experience is highly desirable.

Education:

� Bachelor�s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent electrical engineering field experience.
� A valid U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
