Are you ready to be at the forefront of nuclear technology innovation? We are seeking a Sodium Fire Design and Analysis Engineer for an exciting REMOTE, long-=term contract opportunity supporting cutting-edge reactor design. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about shaping safer, more efficient energy solutions while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in the small modular reactor sector
What You Will Do:
- Develop advanced analytical models to evaluate sodium chemical reactions (e.g., sodium-air, water, concrete interactions).
- Create aerosol generation/transport models and containment performance analysis.
- Conduct software quality assurance activities to qualify modeling codes
- Collaborate on regulatory submittals with agencies such as NRC.
- Support hazard analyses, safety classifications (SSC), PIRT exercises & functional containment strategies.
Key Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in nuclear engineering, or other relevant engineering degree, with at least 3 years of experience in the nuclear field is required.
- In-depth knowledge of sodium chemical reactions, nuclear systems thermal-hydraulic, reactor dynamics and transient phenomena is required.
- Experience with performing sodium fire analysis using computer codes such as CONTAIN-LMR, MELCOR, SPCA-ANL, SOFIRE II, NACOM, or similar tools is desired.
- Familiarity with nuclear design, regulatory requirements, and risk-informed performance-based technology guidance for Non-Light Water Reactors is required.
