System One is looking for a nuclear experienced Safety Representative for an 8-month contract at Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. Must have�safety related training certificates (e.g., OSHT, IHIT, CHST) and/or 12 months job experience in Health &�Safety�with an understanding of 29 CFR 1926/1910 and 10 CFR 851�requirements.
Job Summary:
The Nuclear Safety Representative is responsible for ensuring safe work practices and regulatory compliance within a nuclear power plant environment. This role supports the implementation of site safety programs, enforces NRC and OSHA regulations, and promotes a strong safety culture to protect employees, contractors, and the public from occupational hazards.

Key Responsibilities:
� � �Enforce compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Department of Energy (DOE) regulations of 29 CFR 1926/1910 and 10 CFR 851.
� � �Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
� � �Daily inspections of scaffolding.�
� � �Review and write work plans for safety compliance and recommend control measures for hazardous tasks.
� � �Investigate safety incidents and near-misses; lead root cause analysis and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
� � �Participate in safety drills.
� � �Maintain and update safety documentation, permits, and safety performance metrics.
� � �Promote human performance improvement (HPI) principles and maintain INPO (Institute of Nuclear Power Operations) safety standards.
� � �Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to integrate safety into daily plant activities.

Qualifications:
� � �At least 12 months of health and safety experience in a nuclear, utility, or highly regulated industrial environment required.�
� � �Associate's or Bachelor�s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field preferred.
� � �Strong understanding of NRC regulations, OSHA standards (especially of 29 CFR 1926/1910 and 10 CFR 851)
� � �OSHA 30 certification is required at minimum, additional certifications such as OSHA 300, OSHA 500, OSHT, IHIT, CHST are preferred.�
� � �Familiarity with plant systems, confined space entry, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), hot work, etc.
� � �Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in high-stress and time-sensitive environments.
� � �Must pass background checks, psychological screening, and security clearance for access to the nuclear facility.

Working Conditions:
� � �The schedule for this project is 100% onsite working 6/10s from End of Sept. 2025 � Mid May 2026.�
� � �Work performed in a secure nuclear facility with exposure to radiological environments.
� � �Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including dosimetry badges and protective clothing.
� � �Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around heavy equipment as required.
� � �Rotating shifts, on-call responsibilities, or extended hours may be required during outages or emergency conditions.
