Senior Mechanical Engineer Owner's Engineer Role

Location: Onsite: Waynesboro, GA (Potential for hybrid work model or alternate onsite weeks in early stage of the contract.)
Contract Type: Long-Term Contract
Per Diem: $150/day (7 days/week) or expense arrangement available

Job Description:

System One is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for a long-term contract position in Waynesboro, GA. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer with a robust commercial nuclear background who is ready to undertake strategic Owner's Engineering responsibilities, specifically in supporting Extended Power Uprate (EPU) efforts at a leading nuclear site. The successful candidate will oversee mechanical engineering work, manage vendor deliverables, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while facilitating critical plant modifications tied to fleet-wide performance enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

*Provide technical oversight of engineering vendors and contractors.
*Conduct Owner's Acceptance Reviews for third-party work.
*Collaborate across project teams to ensure effective execution of significant upgrades.
*Monitor and assess engineering responses and technical issues throughout project phases.
*Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a minimum of 7 years of nuclear experience, and an understanding of ASME codes and NRC regulations.
