Job Title: Senior Civil Engineering Technician
Location: Aiken, SC
Job Location: Aiken, SC (Savannah River Site)

System One is looking for a Senior Civil Engineering Technician experienced in soil and concrete construction materials testing, for a position at the Savannah River Site near Aiken, SC. Must live local or relocate to the area.
Monday through Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm.  The off shift and weekend work is minimal.

Job Title: Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Sr. Civil Technician/Superintendent, Level III
Job Description & Responsibilities:
The Civil Technician reports directly to the Civil Superintendent and will have the following duties and responsibilities as a minimum:
Oversee and perform Concrete Field/Lab & Soils Field/Lab material testing in accordance with all applicable AASHTO, ACI, ASTM, NQA-1, and System One procedures.
Have the flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends if needed Monday through Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm.  The off shift and weekend work is minimal.

Pass written and performance examinations for all Civil Testing qualifications.
Assure that all conditions adverse to quality are properly documented and processed in accordance with System One Nonconformance and/or Corrective Actions programs.
Administer written and performance evaluations for civil technicians
Interpret codes, standards, and specifications and designate test methods and procedures to be used.
Accurately prepare and review detailed field and laboratory test reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
A combination of education and experience meeting one of the following:
High School Diploma or GED plus 10 years of concrete & soils testing experience
Associate Degree in related field plus 7 years of concrete & soils testing experience
Four-year college graduate plus 5 years of concrete and soils testing experience
Effective English language communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing)
Experience in soils, concrete, aggregate, and masonry field and laboratory testing
Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. (material samples and equipment)
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Company will provide Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear, as appropriate)
Ability to work and maneuver equipment (such as a loaded wheelbarrow) on uneven ground and around active construction sites
Competency in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience testing under an NQA-1 Quality System
Experience calibrating materials testing equipment
Experience in File Maker Pro software
Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and Word
Certifications through American Concrete Institute (ACI)
Field Testing Grade I / Strength Testing / Aggregate Laboratory Testing (Level 1 or 2)
Aggregate/Soils Base Testing Technician
Certifications through NICET
Construction Materials Testing Asphalt , Concrete, or Soils (Levels I, II, III, or IV)
Compensation & Benefits
Pay rate commensurate with experience and certifications with a hourly rate between $38 - $42
