We�re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of key mechanical systems and components critical to advanced reactor technology. This is an opportunity to apply your skills across design, analysis, prototyping, and manufacturing�working with an expert team on technology that makes a global impact.

What this role offers:
Location: Onsite in Maryland
Full-Time, Onsite, 12-Month Contract, high likelihood of in-house conversion
Salary Range: $60�$100/hr based on labor category and qualifications

Responsibilities:
� Design, analyze, and develop reactor SSCs (e.g., internal structures, helium circulators, core components).
� Conduct hand calculations and use analytical tools to evaluate thermal, hydraulic, and structural performance.
� Translate concepts into 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
� Lead or support manufacturing, prototyping, and testing efforts.
� Interface with systems engineers and project leads to define requirements and apply appropriate codes and standards.
� Write technical reports, design basis documents, and verification plans.
� Review designs for manufacturability, integration, and compliance with nuclear quality standards.
� Support configuration management and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications:
� Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
� Proficient in hand calculations and mechanical system design.
� CAD and PLM software experience (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Pro-E, Windchill).
� Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience delivering hardware or manufacturing processes (internships, academic teams, or industry).
� Familiarity with ASME BPVC, B31.1/B31.3, and other relevant design codes.
� Preferred: Experience with nuclear plant operations, graphite or non-metallic components, or pressure vessel manufacturing.
