Position: Senior Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer – Remote (U.S. Based)
Employment Type: Contract
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizen
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with a strong background in power systems, NEC compliance, design review, and project coordination. This role involves applying advanced engineering techniques, optimizing designs, automating calculations, and providing technical leadership. The ideal candidate will work independently on design execution while offering guidance to less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce and review project designs
Perform code compliance reviews
Redline project drawings
Develop and review construction documents
Write and review technical specifications
Conduct project QA/QC, including technical and interdisciplinary coordination reviews
Provide engineering support during equipment fabrication and installation
Attend client meetings and deliver presentations to stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
4+ years of progressive experience in Electrical I&C engineering design
Proficiency in electrical calculations (power distribution, fault circuit analysis, lighting, grounding)
Knowledge of NFPA (including NEC), ISA, and IEEE regulatory codes
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
Experience on U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facility projects
Knowledge of nuclear-related design standards (NQA-1, NRTL, etc.)
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD drawing generation
Experience with SKM or ETAP software
