JOB SUMMARY:
Criticality Safety Engineer Support shall be responsible for independently planning, organizing, and performing a wide variety of non-hazardous specialized administrative/technical duties in
support of the successful completion of goals and deliverables and in accordance with all
provisions of the Contract. Criticality Safety Engineer Support with senior Criticality Safety Support. This will include the generation of Criticality Safety documentation, criticality safety support to Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) Operations, and will include interface with permanent staff as well as subcontract staff preparing criticality safety deliverables.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Criticality Safety Engineer Support shall support Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) criticality safety management and oversight activities associated with criticality safety programs.
� Criticality Safety-related assessments and/or walk-throughs
� Training and mentoring of criticality safety staff and operations staff on criticality safety policies and programs
� Nuclear criticality safety-related DOE orders and regulations compliance support, including CPCCo implementation of related guidance
� Support CPCCo in performance of routine and ad-hoc reviews, assessments, and oversight walk-downs of criticality safety program adequacy, implementation, and compliance verification/oversight activities.
� Mentoring/training criticality safety staff as directed by management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or a related technical field. Buyer accepts an education equivalency of two (2) years of experience for one (1) year of education.
Experience/Skills:
Minimum of 15 years in the nuclear safety industry, of which at least eight (8) years must be directly related to the required area of expertise as a criticality safety engineer as defined under 10 CFR 830.
Training
Provided training task-specific or facility-specific training as required for site and facility access and safe performance of assigned tasks if needed.
Work Location/Potential Access
Primary work location will be at Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo) office located at 2620 Fermi Ave., Richland, WA. May be approved to perform work remotely
Standard Shift/Non-Standard Workdays/Overtime
Standard Shift:
Work shall be done on a 4 x 10 schedule. The standard workday consists of ten (10) hours of
work between 6:00 AM and 4:30 PM, with one-half hour designated as an unpaid period for
lunch. No work occurs on the non-working Fridays.
