JOB SUMMARY:
Scope technical tasks and develop creative solutions to assigned problems. Begin using systems and meeting requirements with minimal supervisory guidance. Accepts complex tasks and receives minimal guidance from senior professionals.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Incorporate conventional engineering or scientific practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
� Provide limited guidance and direction to less senior engineering professionals. Carry out development and qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases such as design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future problems.
� Develop alternate solutions to existing problems. Perform all detail work necessary to determine best solutions.
� Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on proposed projects/tasks in area of assignment.
� May delegate portions of the detail work to less senior personnel. Prepare costs and schedule estimates on proposed projects/tasks in assigned area.
� Demonstrate cost and schedule consciousness through timely completion of assigned tasks and projects. Prepare manuals and other documents supporting or publicizing the technical effort.
� Demonstrate creative ability through medium of patent disclosures, problem solving, engineering reports, technical papers and articles.

Work Hours:
A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s
(8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10�s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80�s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has
30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the
discretion of the Manager. The work performed under this subcontract will be located at SRS, NNSA offices in Washington DC, and/or NNSA sites across the USA (e.g., Y-12, LANL, Sandia, Pantex, Kansas City, and LLNL) and/or at the subcontractor�s home office (for unclassified work).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION:
In applicable science or engineering discipline entry level PhD degree, MS degree with 2-4 years experience; or BS and 5-10 years experience.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
� Understands and applies advanced knowledge of discipline's standard theories, concepts, principles and techniques; has working knowledge of standard engineering/scientific practices and applications
� Experience with computers and software to include: Word, Excel, Power Point, and other software and tools as needed.
� Experience with the design, procurement, fabrication and installation of Gloveboxes within the DOE Complex.
� Ability to analyze complex operations, identify solutions and implement/track projects to successful closure including good organizational skills.
� Proficiency, experience, and knowledge with procurement acquisition processes and project management.
� Ability to effectively work in partnership with peers, Design Authority Engineers, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Glovebox Manufacturers, and Test organizations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Area Security Access: Clearance �Q� required. Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA.
