Job Description
EGS, Inc. is supporting Fluor on the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) Project with nine (9) open Material Controller Specialist II positions across Greenville, SC and Houston, TX.
These are discipline-aligned Material Control roles, with specialists needed in:
- Piping/Plumbing
- Electrical
- Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
- Civil/Structural/Architectural & Fire Protection (CSA/FP)
- HVAC/Mechanical
Each Specialist will provide procurement support, expediting, and material control services within their assigned discipline, ensuring timely delivery of project materials and alignment with Fluor, DOE, and NNSA requirements.
Responsibilities
Identify material requirements and prepare detailed material take-offs from discipline drawings.
Provide procurement support and expediting in conformance with project requirements.
Monitor and support material logistics, contingencies, and material management functions.
Interface with internal/external clients, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of discipline materials and controls.
Develop logistics and related procedures with Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and Engineering.
Support field forces during construction; monitor material receivables at site and at fabrication shops.
Interpret P&IDs, CSA drawings, electrical schematics, I&C diagrams, HVAC layouts, and vendor catalog data depending on discipline focus.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and five (5) years of work-related experience OR A combination of education and directly related experience equal to nine (9) years if non-degreed.
Skills & Experience:
Strong discipline-specific material control knowledge (piping, electrical, I&C, CSA/FP, or HVAC/Mechanical).
Proficiency in procurement, material logistics, and expediting processes.
Ability to interpret discipline drawings and vendor data.
Effective communicator with management, clients, vendors, and field teams.
Ability to perform field walkdowns and support active construction environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DOE/NNSA or nuclear projects.
Familiarity with Fluor material management systems and tools.
In-depth knowledge of material contingencies, logistics analysis, and material management.
