We are currently recruiting for a Nuclear Safety Engineer with the following capabilities:

Education & Experience: An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and 10 years' experience. A MS degree and 12 years' experience. A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience. [Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemistry]

- Considered an internal expert in area of expertise.
- Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations.
- Can solve complex problems in field.
- Previous experience with the use and implementation of 10 CFR 830, DOE O 413.3, DOE O 420.1, DOE STDs 3009, 1186, 1189 and related directives and standards is required.
- Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in developing and providing safety basis inputs to facility/project schedules, while meeting deadlines and budgets.
- Candidate must perform work safely and be proficient in performing Nuclear Safety Program assessments.

Nice to Have:
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred
- Demonstrated previous SRS nuclear safety engineering experience is preferred.
- Fifteen years of relevant experience in developing, reviewing, and maintaining safety basis documents and safety basis support
documents are preferred.
- Have previous Lead experience in developing safety basis documentation.

Duration: 12 months with possible extension(s)
