Airswift is seeking an experienced I&C Engineer with a strong background in digital design to support long-term projects at the Brunswick Nuclear Plant in Southport, NC.
The selected candidate will contribute to the Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Design Organization, focusing on digital and software-based system upgrades and replacements.

Responsibilities
• Perform design engineering work for digital and I&C projects, including system assessments, network architecture design, and vendor coordination.
• Lead or support the development of design packages, conceptual designs, specifications, and technical evaluations.
• Act as Lead Technical and/or Responsible Engineer for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with vendors, AEs, and designers to ensure alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
• Support implementation phases, including testing (FAT/SAT), installation, and field issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with NRC cyber security regulations (10CFR73.54) in all digital designs.
• Develop and review setpoints, software evaluations, and control circuit upgrades.
• Obtain qualification as a Modification Engineer under Duke Energy or demonstrate equivalent credentials from another utility.
• Provide technical guidance and sound engineering judgment to project teams.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in the nuclear industry.
• Experience in digital system design, networking architecture, and software-based control systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility (includes background screening, radiation worker training, and fitness-for-duty compliance).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Familiarity with engineering tools such as Passport or Consolidated Asset Suite for design and work order development.
