Position: Project Manager with a civil/rigging background
Pay rate: $70-$95 an hour based off experiance
Location: Tonopah AZ
per diem: $840 a week
Length: anticipated multi year contract
Overview:
The Project Manager will lead and oversee civil and rigging projects at Palo Verde Nuclear Station, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work activities. This role requires expertise in heavy civil construction, rigging operations, and field oversight within a nuclear power environment. The Project Manager will be responsible for scope development, scheduling, resource coordination, and vendor oversight, while ensuring compliance with NRC, site, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of civil and rigging projects, from planning through execution and closeout.
Develop project scopes, estimates, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
Oversee rigging and heavy lift activities, including scaffolding, crane operations, load movements, and structural support work.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NRC regulations, ASME/ANSI standards, OSHA safety requirements, and site procedures.
Lead preparation and review of work packages, engineering documents, and safety plans.
Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, operations, supply chain, and external vendors to support project execution.
Conduct field inspections to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to project requirements.
Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and resolve technical or execution challenges.
Manage vendor contracts, evaluate performance, and oversee subcontractor activities.
Provide regular status updates, cost/schedule reports, and project performance metrics to station leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor�s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (preferred). Equivalent work experience may be considered.
5�10 years of civil/rigging project management experience, ideally within a nuclear utility or heavy industrial setting.
Demonstrated expertise in rigging operations, scaffolding, crane activities, structural steel/concrete work, and related heavy civil activities.
Strong knowledge of NRC, OSHA, ASME, and ANSI standards applicable to nuclear construction and rigging.
Experience with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
