Talascend is currently seeking a Supplier Project Engineer, Procurement for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
Overview
This individual is responsible for management and technical integration of supplier projects supporting the Natrium Project in conjunction with the Contract Administrator and Technical Representative.
Responsibilities
Act in a project management capacity for supplier performance management and oversight.
Apply classic project management tools to oversee suppliers including cost, schedule, submittal oversight, and resources.
Collaborate with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure fidelity to contract and technical direction with supplier.
Develop statements of work (SOW) and project planning to execute supplier projects to meet program objectives.
Facilitate supplier selection activities with requests for proposals (RFPs) and team review/selection processes.
Provide direction and oversight of supplier projects, working with the contract administrator to ensure delivery of data and other deliverables.
Coordinate Natrium technical review process of supplier deliverables and ensure appropriate responses.
Manage technical interfaces between supplier projects and Natrium technical team.
Provide support to contract administration and commercial activities as needed to implement projects.
Manage submittal process between supplier and Natrium Team.
Maintain awareness of supplier technical capabilities, organization changes and relationships to ensure positive feedback to Natrium.
Qualifications
Technical degree preferably in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, systems, or civil engineering required.
10-20 years’ experience in supplier oversight required.
Preferred: PMP certification or equivalent training.
Preferred: 3-5 years of manufacturing oversight in either fabrication or I&C environment.
Requirements
Understanding of fabrication travelers, welding, and similar manufacturing processes.
Experience with the UL 508A standard with respect to the assemblies of components including control circuit components, motor controllers, and other devices preferred.
Experience defining supplier work scope to include development of SOWs, RFPs and providing direction and oversight of supplier projects required.
Demonstrated skills in management of suppliers in design and manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated skills in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships.
Previous experience in technical interface with engineering groups for review and input to supplier activities.
Required experience with project controls and organization along with tools and processes to support the same.
A broad understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and nuclear engineering disciplines and how they interrelate is important.
Strong communication skills desired.
