Design Process Engineer – Agency Contract
Bellevue, WA | $67–$110/hour | Onsite | Contract Role
System One is seeking a highly motivated Design Process Engineer to support nuclear plant design engineering process development, oversight, and maintenance. In this role, you will focus on design change control, working as part of a high-performing team of engineers and scientists to coordinate and integrate engineering processes across multiple functional areas.
Responsibilities
Enforce and maintain engineering processes and standards, with emphasis on design change management and control.
Provide coaching, tools, and training support for engineering teams on design control, configuration management, and related processes.
Identify, raise, and resolve inconsistencies between procedures and engineering deliverables.
Support planning efforts and ensure schedule adherence for design and design change activities.
Apply project and program management techniques to daily work, meetings, and team coordination.
Key Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant engineering discipline with 10+ years of experience.
Strong background in integrated nuclear plant design and construction execution.
In-depth knowledge of design control tools and nuclear industry design change control practices.
Experience spanning the full product lifecycle: design, construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning.
Familiarity with ANSI/NIRMA CM 1.0 and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B control programs (required).
Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in both independent and team environments.
