Position Summary:
The Work Control Supervisor (ON-SITE CONTRACTOR ROLE) is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and overseeing all maintenance, operations, and modification activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of work at a nuclear facility. This role ensures that all work is planned, prioritized, and performed in accordance with regulatory requirements, plant procedures, and outage schedules while minimizing risk to nuclear safety and plant reliability. Must be able to pass background check and be badged at nuclear facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Work Management Oversight
Lead daily, weekly, and long-range work planning meetings to align operations, maintenance, and project priorities.
Ensure work packages are properly prepared, reviewed, and approved before execution.
Manage backlog prioritization and resource allocation to support station goals.
Scheduling & Coordination
Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated work schedules for online and outage periods.
Coordinate work activities with Operations, Maintenance, Radiation Protection, Engineering, and other support groups.
Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust plans as needed to maintain plant safety and reliability.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to NRC, INPO, OSHA, and plant-specific work control requirements.
Verify that all work activities are conducted in compliance with plant procedures, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Promote a strong nuclear safety culture and human performance excellence.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Track work progress, identify schedule variances, and implement corrective actions.
Generate reports on work completion, schedule adherence, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for work management processes.
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise and mentor Work Control Specialists, Planners, and Schedulers.
Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to improve work management effectiveness.
Foster teamwork and collaboration between departments to improve schedule discipline.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Management, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent experience.
Experience:
5–10 years of nuclear power plant experience in Work Management, Operations, or Maintenance.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
Experience with outage management, work control processes, and integrated scheduling systems (e.g., P6, Maximo).
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of nuclear plant operations, technical specifications, and work control processes.
Proficiency in scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or equivalent) and CMMS systems.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities under time constraints.
