EGS is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support ongoing civil design work in the Engineering directorate to support our DOE customer in Las Vegas, NV. The candidate will provide support to design projects in the construction phase to ensure deconfliction of issues along with development of design documents. If required, the candidate will be responsible for development and configuration management products and discovery of existing conditions. The candidate will ensure requirements are traceable and transparent throughout the project lifecycle, including design, construction, procurement, startup and turnover to operations. Current project work includes the Fleet Waterline Project.

We are needing a civil production engineer who can sit down at a computer and prepare project documents. They must be able to use Civil 3d for grading, drainage, roadway, and water pipeline projects. They must be able to do the designs themselves and prepare project drawings.

This is a long term contract position and comes with top competitive rates, great benefits and government per diem. Due to the nature of work candidates must be a US Citizen.

Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to civil engineering design. Must have experience in drawings and design for potable water systems, site grading, land development and drainage/stormwater design etc. and have an ABET accredited engineering degree.


Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and coordinate civil engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects.
Generate designs in Civil 3D related to water distribution systems, water supply, sewage collection, distribution, and treatment, grading and drainage, and pavement evaluation and design.
Conduct construction document reviews.
Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, and specifications.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years' experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.
