Savannah River Nuclear Solutions is looking for (1) Principal Engineers.
Will close to submissions on 10/20 @ 5:00PM EST.
Education & Experience: Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years’ experience. OR A MS with 8+ years’ experience. OR A BS with 10+ years’ experience or more. BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Top Skills & Years of Experience:
- The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
- The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities.
- Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a nuclear industry/facility.
- Candidate must demonstrate experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews.
- Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half a mile, climbing of ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing and environments where a respirator is required.
Nice to Have:
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred
- Previous SRS Design Engineering experience and working knowledge of SRNS design processes and procedures are preferred

PF-81 Evaluation Criteria:
• Price and Cost to Company: 20%
• Technical Acceptability: 70%
• Availability & Qualifications of Personnel: 10%-Preferred Experience/Skills as identified in the Position Description.
Duration of the Contract: ONE (1) YEAR WITH THE OPTION TO EXTEND FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE (1) YEAR OPTION YEARS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION.
• Option Periods are not guaranteed and are executed at the discretion of the hiring manager.
• Yearly options will automatically include a 3.5% escalation.

2080 ST 800 OT
Anticipated Work Schedule:
6:45am-5:15pm EST Mon-Thurs
Onsite or Remote? 100 % onsite. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
