Meridian services group is hiring a Regulatory Affairs Lead for a long-term pipe replacement project in Illinois. This position is onsite and offers excellent compensation, per diem, and access to company benefits!

The PMO - Regulatory Affairs Lead position is responsible for ensuring full compliance with the ICC final order for Pipe replacement project (PRP) execution. This includes managing interactions with ICC regulatory bodies, other PRP stakeholders and other relevant state agencies/organizations. The position will lead regulatory strategies, oversee adherence to compliance programs, coordinate audits and inspections, and provide guidance to the PRP team to minimize compliance risk and support PRP execution strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Strategy & Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive regulatory compliance programs aligned with the ICC final Order for PRP.
Monitor evolving ICC regulations impacting PRP and communicate business impacts to leadership.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and lead development of corrective action plans where gaps are identified.
Maintain corporate compliance manuals, procedures, and training materials to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
Regulatory Filings & Documentation
Assist in and provide guidance in preparation, submission, and maintenance of regulatory filings related to the PRP.
Oversee the preparation of regulatory filings, rate cases, testimony, and reports, ensuring quality, timeliness, and strategic alignment.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of PRP project documentation related to and in support of any ICC filings or communications.
Maintain audit-ready documentation systems to support internal and external inspections.
Agency & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the companies PRP primary liaison and interface with state regulatory agencies, key stakeholders and other regulatory agencies.
Represent the company during compliance inspections, enforcement actions, and public hearings.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulators, key stakeholders and industry associations
Cross-Functional Leadership Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance to project teams on PRP project selection, required project documentation, decision processes and related documentation, project variance analysis, risk and contingency management and other key project processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, finance, operations, capital construction, government affairs, and sustainability teams.
Serve as the primary strategist and advisor to leadership and PRP teams on regulatory and policy trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop internal guidance and briefings for senior executives and the Board regarding regulatory developments and impacts.
Deliver training and awareness programs to operations personnel on regulatory requirements and best practices.
Team Management
Lead and mentor regulatory staff, setting performance expectations and development plans.
Manage resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives for compliance processes.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Science, Legal Studies, or a related field (Masters degree or industry certification preferred).
