Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Material Control Manager opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Material Control Manager to lead inventory and material flow operations for an industrial manufacturing project within the nuclear sector. This role is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, movement, and traceability of nuclear-grade materials in compliance with NQA-1 and other regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in highly regulated environments and a strong background in supply chain, logistics, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage material control operations including receiving, inventory, staging, and distribution
• Ensure full traceability and documentation of materials in accordance with NQA-1 and DOE/NRC requirements
• Develop and maintain procedures for material handling, labeling, and contamination control
• Oversee inventory management systems and ensure data accuracy across all platforms
• Collaborate with procurement, production, engineering, and quality teams to support project schedules and material readiness
• Manage cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies
• Supervise and train material control staff, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory protocols
• Support internal and external audits with complete and accurate material documentation
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance material flow and reduce waste
• Monitor supplier performance and coordinate with vendors on material deliveries and returns

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in material control or inventory management, preferably in the nuclear, aerospace, or defense industries
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting DOE or NRC-regulated projects
• Knowledge of NQA-1 and nuclear quality assurance standards
• Familiarity with complex systems or precision rotating equipment
• Certification in logistics, inventory control, or quality systems (e.g., APICS, ASQ)
• Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and contamination control

Other Job Requirements:
• United States Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.
