Job Title: Maintenance Work Package Planner

Duration: Full-Time

Location: Los Alamos, NM

Short Summary about Job:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Work Package Planner to support Asset Management Programs (AMPs) in a multidisciplinary environment. This role involves developing and reviewing comprehensive work packages for operations, maintenance, and modification activities across major building systems including roofing, electrical, and HVAC systems. The successful candidate will work within an Integrated Work Management framework, supporting program leads for RAMP (Roofing Asset Management Program), CHAMP (Cooling & Heating Asset Management Program), and LAMP (Lighting Asset Management Program).

The planner will be responsible for creating detailed work packages (IWDs) that include time, material, and labor estimates, step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and safety/testing requirements. This position requires strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and roofing disciplines, with the ability to resolve work restraints and bring work packages to successful closure while ensuring all work is performed in a safe and secure manner.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with minimum five years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated experience developing and reviewing work packages for maintenance, construction, or modification activities
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or HVAC building systems
Proven ability to develop time, material, and labor estimates for facility work
Experience writing detailed step-by-step work instructions and procedures
Knowledge of safety and testing requirements for facility maintenance and construction work
Ability to identify and resolve work restraints and bring work packages to closure
Strong understanding of facility operations and maintenance best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Integrated Work Management (IWM) systems and processes
Previous experience supporting Asset Management Programs
Knowledge of roofing systems, assessment, and repair/replacement projects
Familiarity with DOE or NNSA facility operations and requirements
Experience working in nuclear or other highly regulated facilities
Knowledge of design-build project delivery methods
Experience with assessment, design, and construction phases of capital projects
Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Professional certification in facilities management, planning, or related field
Experience coordinating work across multiple building systems programs simultaneously

Miscellaneous/Additional Information:

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain appropriate facility access clearances. Work will be performed in support of critical infrastructure programs using a design-build model that includes assessment, design, and construction/repair/replacement phases. The planner will interact regularly with program leads, contractors, facility personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure work is properly planned, scheduled, and executed in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
