Savannah River Nuclear Solutions is looking for (1) Senior Design Specialist - A/2D/3D STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

Education & Experience:
An associates degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 - 12 years' work experience or 12 - 16 years of practical work experience.

Top Skills:
-Requires an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, applications, calculations, materials, construction methods, and relevant computer applications.
-Applies advanced principles and practices in engineering to resolve problems identified by construction organizations in a timely manner.
-Continued updating on new technologies and hardware in the industry is necessary.
-Candidate must demonstrate 8 years of experience as a Structural Designer including experience with structural detailing and design of building structures and commodity supports.
-Knowledge of 3D structural modeling and experience using 3D Modeling using Hexagon’s S3D software is required.
-Must have working knowledge of National Codes and Standards for structural design.
-Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk-downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances over a half mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, dressing out in protective clothing.
-Candidate must have the ability to produce quality documents with attention to detail.

Nice to Have:
-Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
-Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience is preferred.

PF-81 Evaluation Criteria:
-Price and Cost to Company: 20%
-Past Performance: 70%
-Preferred Experience/Skills as identified in the Position Description: 10%

Duration of the Contract: One year with the option to extend for two additional one-year options.

Option Periods are not guaranteed and are executed at the discretion of the hiring manager.

Yearly options will automatically include a 3.5% escalation.

Estimates Hours Per Year: 2080 ST / 800 OT

Anticipated Work Schedule: Mon-Thu, 6am-4:30pm

Onsite or Remote? 100% Onsite. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
