This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, and proven success managing cost, schedule, risk, and stakeholder coordination for high-visibility modifications and plant improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Major Modification & Capital Project Leadership
• Lead cradle-to-completion management of major plant modification projects, including multi-million-dollar capital upgrades, engineered equipment replacements, large component overhauls, and long-term reliability improvement programs.
• Manage complex modifications such as chiller replacements, crane and lifting-system upgrades, cooling tower refurbishment programs, digital modernization projects, and facility infrastructure improvements.
• Drive development of engineering change packages, design deliverables, procurement specifications, and construction work packages in coordination with engineering and field teams.
• Oversee contractor mobilization activities, equipment staging, construction execution, system walkdowns, testing, and turnover.

Project Controls & Performance Management
• Build and baseline integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring logical sequencing and resource planning for all engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, accruals, cost tracking, and variance analysis; ensure projects stay within approved cost and schedule targets.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for critical path activities, outage interfaces, and regulatory-sensitive milestones.
• Prepare detailed performance reports, milestone updates, and communication packages for senior leadership.
Cross-Functional & Regulatory Coordination
• Serve as the primary liaison between project engineering, maintenance, operations, regulatory affairs, project controls, procurement, and contractor teams.
• Support development and coordination of outage work scope associated with major modifications, ensuring alignment with plant priorities and outage windows.
• Ensure all project deliverables adhere to NRC, INPO, and site configuration control requirements.
• Lead project meetings, design reviews, modification board presentations, and readiness assessments.
Vendor, Contract, & Procurement Oversight
• Review contractor proposals, support bid evaluations, negotiate contract terms, and manage supplier performance throughout project execution.
• Oversee material procurement, lead times, quality verifications, and delivery schedules to avoid construction delays.
• Ensure all contracted work meets safety, technical, and quality standards, as well as site-specific procedures.

Leadership & Collaboration
• Provide mentoring and task leadership to supporting project managers, schedulers, planners, and financial analysts.
• Foster a strong nuclear safety culture and champion professional communication, accountability, and teamwork.
• Work effectively across disciplines to ensure seamless coordination from project initiation through operational turnover.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; extensive nuclear project management experience considered in lieu of degree.
• PMP certification strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale nuclear or highly regulated industry projects, including major modifications.
• Strong experience with Primavera P6, EPMS, and work management systems (SWMS, MLIS).
• Demonstrated success managing major mod projects with tight schedules, large contractor teams, technical complexities, and regulatory oversight.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
