Education & Experience: Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years experience. OR A MS with 8+ years� experience. OR A BS with 10+ years experience or more. BS Degree in Architecture and 10+ years recent architectural experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities.

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

The following experience/skills are required for this position:

- Industrial experience in facility layout design for industrial type equipment and manufacturing

- Commercial practice experience

- Familiarity with National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI, AWS, NFPA, OSHA, CFR and ABA.

- Working knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code 101

- Knowledge of preparation of Construction Specification Institute (CSI) formatted specifications.

- Passive Fire Protection Design Skills � Fire Barriers/Penetration Seals

- Working knowledge of MicroStation CADD (AutoCAD experience with willingness to learn MicroStation is acceptable

Nice to Have/Preferred:

- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred

- Previous SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience

- Familiarity with the processes and procedures for providing engineering support to SRS facilities.

- Facility security architectural experience.

- Familiarity with cost estimating and quantity takeoffs.
