We are seeking an experienced NQA-1 QA/QC Specialist with strong Expediting experience to support a major fabrication project at Peterson Inc. in Ogden, Utah. The role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with NQA-1 quality requirements, overseeing both safety-related and non-safety-related fabrication activities, and supporting schedule adherence through proactive expediting.
This position requires an individual located in or near the Salt Lake City / Ogden region due to the onsite nature of the work.
Project Timeline & Onsite Requirements
Phase 1 – Initial Fabrication (Approx. 6 Weeks):
Full-time onsite presence at Peterson Inc. during the beginning of fabrication through the first shipment milestone.
Phase 2 – Remainder of the Project (Approximately 2 Years):
Ongoing periodic site visits, estimated twice per week, to perform continuing QA/QC oversight, documentation reviews, supplier follow-up, and expediting activities.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct NQA-1 compliant QA/QC inspections and assessments throughout fabrication activities.
Participate in the Quality Pre-Fabrication Meeting at Peterson Inc. starting December 3, 2025.
Verify supplier adherence to approved procedures, drawings, and technical requirements.
Perform welding, material, and fabrication inspections as required.
Manage quality records, nonconformance documentation, and corrective action follow-up.
Expedite material deliveries, sub-vendor activities, and fabrication progress to support project schedules.
Provide ongoing communication to project management regarding quality status, schedule risks, and compliance issues.
Ensure both Safety-Related and Non-Safety-Related fabrication meets applicable code, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of QA/QC experience in fabrication or manufacturing environments.
Working knowledge of NQA-1 quality programs and associated compliance requirements.
Proven expediting experience in a fabrication or supplier oversight setting.
Strong understanding of weld inspection, material traceability, and document control processes.
Ability to work independently onsite and maintain professional communication with internal teams and suppliers.
