Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Structural Engineer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.
Position Overview:
Structural Engineer to be responsible for design projects, developing design calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA) techniques, developing drawing, and developing specifications for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school
8+ years of post-education experience
A PE or SE is required with the ability to obtain a new state license as required.
Perform Engineer of Record duties as assigned
Demonstrate being Engineer of Record for at least one project
Design experience with steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design
Experience implementing local and national codes such as IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7
Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensure that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant
Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1
Ability to use finite element software such as STAAD.pro (or equivalent)
Ability to lead a small team of engineers and designers
Competent using Microsoft Office software
Reside within a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in civil engineering or equivalent
Competent in using Revit, AutoCAD, or MicroStation software
Experience delivering a range of projects from conceptual design through detailed design. Includes developing design calculations, numerical modeling, drawing development, specification development, and construction support
Knowledge of nuclear codes such as DOE 1020, AISC N690, and ACI 349
DOE Q clearance
DOE experience
NCEES Record
Other Job-Related Qualifications:
Sole United States Citizenship
Valid Drivers License
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.
