Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Controls Specialist opportunity.

Work Location: Remote in support of Central and Eastern Time Zone projects

We are seeking a dedicated team player to join the Project Controls team to support on-going facility maintenance and utility services at project sites. The ideal candidate would have 5 years or more experience, a strong cost analysis background, proficiency in analysis, trending, and forecasting, good at managing multiple deadlines, and strong communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple customers and organizations.

Position Overview

Under limited supervision, the Project Controls Specialist is responsible for supporting project or proposal planning and scheduling activities including engineering, materials management, construction, start-up and operations to support assigned projects.

The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support the organization in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Functional:

Directs the analysis and utilization of schedule data to identify key project issues
Administers the gathering and assembly of data for schedule development and updating appropriate to task
Progresses the identification and analysis of project schedule variances
Develops the collection and updating of data to produce scheduling reports
Manages the development and maintenance of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
Ensures project coding is effectively used for all cornerstone applications
Utilizes drawings and specifications for schedule development
Directs the tracking of subcontractor performance
Measures progress and reviews schedule performance
Leads monthly report preparation
Manages the creation and maintenance of baseline schedule
Supports cost analysis function through cross-training
Participates in planning and scheduling meetings to gain insight to planning and scheduling issues
Directs the gathering of data for procedure development

Competencies:

Possesses strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with moderate attention-to-detail
Administers senior level written and verbal communication skills
Possesses senior level PC skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat
Demonstrates the ability to apply organizational practices, policies and procedures in performing a wide variety of related administrative tasks
Maintains the judgment and discretion to properly discern and safeguard highly-sensitive information
and documents, including company-proprietary information, and classified or otherwise sensitive national security information

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business or related field and 6-9 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Strong project controls skills in cost analysis, trending, and forecasting
Ability to manage multiple deadlines
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple customers and organizations.
Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat

Other Job-Related Qualifications:

United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) credential
