Immediate W2 contract position available in Richland, WA.
Estimated Duration: 12 months +
Job Description / Desired Qualifications:
Provide independent consultation on Company environmental review efforts that involve NEPA/SEPA processes in support of new nuclear development.
Direct knowledge of environmental regulatory activities such as transmittals, permitting, reporting, regulatory analysis, etc required.
Required Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biological Science, or related technical field from an accredited college or university and five years of experience in an environmental related field.
Required abilities and skills:
Understanding Environmental Review needs which may include the conduct of field and onsite visits as needed
Engaging in research activities so that NEPA/SEPA processes are addressed properly and appropriate solutions can be designed for the same
Collaborating with a team of environmental scientists, engineers, technicians, and other experts in environmental laws to support discussion and resolution of environmental/environmental process issues
Preparing necessary project documentation and business presentations and proposals as agreed upon in order to meet EN’s expectations
Updating management on agreed upon reports related to business objectives and targets
Identifying environmental issues and ensure that we get necessary assistance for formulation and implementation of the suggested environmental strategies
Reviewing the effectiveness of the project and ensures the compliance with the environmental rules and regulations.
Making aware of latest environmental policies, rules, and standards that may need to be followed.
Principal Accountabilities:

Identifying environmental issues and assisting in formulation and implementation of the suggested environmental strategies.

Making aware of latest environmental policies, rules, and standards that may need to be followed.
Desired Education and Experience:
Experience with and knowledge of federal and WA State environmental planning activities such as:
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit preparation and compliance
Storm water management (e.g., Storm Water Pollution Prevention Planning)
Air permit (e.g., Air Operating Permit, Radioactive Air Emissions License) application and implementation
Environmental management systems
Pollution prevention
Community right-to-know requirements
Local/state government siting requirements
Solid waste disposal
Preparation of environmental reports and impact statements
State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) compliance
Water rights applications, permits, and certificates
