POSITION DESCRIPTION

The applicant, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, will be responsible for engineering activities in support of the production targets for components, assemblies, and machines manufactured at the Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, TN.

What You Will Be Doing:

Establishes routings, processes, and procedures for fabrication, assembly, and repair of complex components
Leads product launch activities
Responsible for the achieving and maintaining targets for Availability, Performance, and Quality for manufacturing operations at the Technology and Manufacturing Center
Supports established scopes of work for manufacturing activities
Leads efforts to identify opportunities for process improvements in machining techniques, fixturing approaches, material properties, tooling/coatings, coolants/fluids choice and application techniques, and other Lean manufacturing approaches
Documents potential risks or shortfalls in future state processes
Leads planning and analysis activities
Designs and develops manufacturing processes with a cross-functional team utilizing internal and external resources.
Develops specifications for fabrication materials and equipment
Leads the design for manufacturing steps in the creation, review, and approval of engineering packages to be used for fabrication
Manages work to ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budget
Adheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security, and environmental and safety program requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Field.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
Experience with DOE projects.
NQA-1 experience.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
Must possess or be able to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below),
Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Current Q Clearance.
Experience with composites manufacturing.
Experience with Centrifuge or HALEU projects.
LOCATION

Work will be performed at the Centrus facility in Oak Ridge, TN.
