[Safety Manager] Safety Manager Needed ASAP

Job Purpose

S.H.&E. Managers are responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures within their organization. They work with other managers to identify potential safety hazards and risks, and then they develop and implement plans to mitigate those risks. S.H.&E. Managers also work with project teams to ensure
regular safety audits and inspections are conducted and that policies are being followed and hazards are being properly addressed. They assist in investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences. S.H.&E. Managers also develop training programs to educate employees on safety policies
and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide professional input and review of Site-Specific Safety Plan when job or site conditions warrant special planning.
• Provide supervision and guidance to Site S.H.&E. Professionals/Managers.
• Works with the Q/A department to ensure organization adheres to all safety requirements outlined in AMPP QP programs i.e., QP-1, QP-2, QS-1
• Review and approve JHRA of safe work plans written by project managers for each project.
• Certification and training management, to include tracking and monitoring expirations and recertification requirements for project teams.
• Ensure safety audits are being conducted in Safety Plus by project teams, Site S.H.&E. Professionals/Managers, and personally conduct an audit when on a project.
• Ensures Site S.H.&E. Professionals/Managers are maintaining more than 50% of their daily shift in the field.
• Ensures accident reporting is timely and treatment of injured personnel in line with Champion injury protocols, including immediate notification to the Risk Management Services of all injuries along with chain of command reporting.
• Ensure all projects have incident reporting protocols, panel of physicians, and the Accident, Incident, and Near Miss Management Playbook filled out and posted in a general location.
• Immediate reporting of all accidents to the S.H.&E. Director and Corporate S.H.&E. Vice President.
• Review with S.H.&E. Director and Corporate S.H.&E. Vice President and share with project teams, Risk Management Services Corporate Safety Data metrics for analysis of any accidents or incidents for preventative action and compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
• Serve as subject-matter expert on safety-related matters and ensure compliance with Laws, Orders, Regulations, and Standards (LORS).
• Assist and effectively manage Workers Compensation Program and perform oversight of claims.
• Assess emergency response and evacuation procedures.
• Stay well-informed of industry trends and regulations, maintain certifications, and seek continuous avenues for growth and improvement.
• Travel to various construction sites or other offsite projects and validate that health and safety protocols are being followed.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with project superintendents, contractors, customers, and field personnel.
• Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
o Hold industrial Safety professional certification CSP, CIH, CHST, or equivalent, plus 5+ years of experience in a similar position or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
o OSHA 30 Certification is preferred.
o OSHA 510 is preferred.
o HazWoper Certification is preferred.
o Solid understanding of OSHA and industry specific regulations.
o Ability to meet deadlines.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Suite software.
o Utilize and become proficient with Safet Plus Web and APP., as well as the Risk Management Services reporting and applications.
o Professional attitude and appearance.
o Solid written and verbal communication skills.
o Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude to help motivate, coach, and inspire employee compliance with safety policies and practices.
o Possess the ability to establish strong working relationships with employees.
o Strong leadership skills and ability to manage other Safety Professionals.
o Able to adapt quickly, in a self-confident manner, while managing critical projects simultaneously.
o Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
o Ability to travel as required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
The S.H.&E. Manager works directly for the S.H.&E. Department with a direct line of reporting to the Corporate S.H.&E. VP and then daily operations reporting duties to the Subsidiary President/Vice President.
The S.H.&E. Manager may be required to work overtime, or weekends, as defined by the needs of the department. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and listen. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and
crouch.
The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to access all levels of a construction site, yard, un-even terrain, enter and exit buildings and work in extreme weather conditions.
