Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Sr. Project Estimator opportunity in Eunice, NM at Urenco USA (UUSA) National Enrichment Facility.
Work Location: On-Site at Urenco, Eunice, NM
Per diem is available for those who qualify
Hybrid work schedule will be considered
Urenco USA is a uranium enrichment facility located east of Eunice, NM and has been in operation since 2010. Urenco provides enriched uranium to the commercial nuclear power sector.
Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and an L or Q level security clearance
Job Description
This position independently is responsible for developing construction estimates and providing financial and cost analyses and reports supporting the capital projects expanding the UUSA site. This position interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and externally with vendor. This position adheres to the foundational behaviors, company values and Urenco behaviors.
Summary of Responsibilities
· Responsible for independently leading, directing and addressing all cost estimating activities for Urenco USA projects.
· Reviews engineering specifications and drawing to determine quantities of materials needed.
· Obtains pricing information including construction time, materials and labor.
· Works closely with project managers and commercial people to build and validate the financial and cost portions of business cases for potential changes to the project cost estimate.
· Understands and is familiar with the applicable codes and site licensing basis requirements.
· Builds, maintains, and updates financial tracking models for the UUSA project, including assistance with the preparation of budget and analysis of variances between actual project costs and budget.
· Maintains and prepares the various monthly reporting dashboards to be provided to UUSA management.
· Maintains and prepares various reporting mechanisms to be provided to UUSA management to allow management the ability to make timely decisions.
· Assists in the preparation of annual and long-term capital and operating budgets analysis.
· Assists evaluation of contractor proposals.
· Collects and evaluates data and develops plans and economic/technical requirements for projects.
· Researches and evaluates economic (market) opportunity, applicable regulation compliance and cost impact of equipment and material utilization for the project
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred.
· Certification from ASPE or similar organization preferred.
· 10+ years of estimating experience.
· Estimating experience on nuclear projects is a plus.
