Electrical Engineer (Professional Engineer – PE)
Nuclear Power Plant
Location: Palo Verde (Hybrid – Onsite 2 Days/Week Preferred)
Position Type: Long-Term Contract
Duration: Multi-Year Assignment
Openings: 2–3 Positions

Pay Rate is based off years of experience from $40-$88 an hour

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Electrical Engineers with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license to support long-term engineering needs at a commercial nuclear power plant. These roles will provide ongoing electrical engineering support for plant systems, design changes, and technical evaluations in a highly regulated environment.

The assignment is expected to extend several years, offering stability and the opportunity to develop deep plant and system knowledge. Local candidates who can support onsite work approximately two days per week are preferred; however, fully remote candidates may be considered for highly qualified individuals.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the responsible Electrical Engineer for plant systems and modifications
Develop, review, and approve electrical engineering calculations, analyses, and design change packages
Support plant modifications, equipment replacements, and system upgrades
Provide technical evaluations and resolutions for electrical system issues
Ensure compliance with plant design basis, licensing basis, and nuclear regulatory requirements
Review and approve vendor documents, drawings, and technical submittals
Interface with operations, maintenance, procurement, and regulatory organizations
Support corrective actions, condition reports, and engineering evaluations
Provide engineering judgment and decision-making consistent with PE responsibilities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
Minimum of 5–6 years of electrical engineering experience (more preferred)
Nuclear power plant experience required
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components used in nuclear generation facilities
Ability to work independently in a compliance-driven, regulated environment

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting long-term plant engineering programs
Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, and NRC requirements
Experience supporting plant modifications and design change processes
Strong communication and technical documentation skills

Work Arrangement

Hybrid preferred: Onsite approximately 2 days per week
Remote option: Considered for highly qualified candidates
Long-term assignment with anticipated duration of multiple years
