Job Title: Sales Representative - Energy & Utilities Staffing
MATRIX is expanding rapidly across the energy and industrial landscape. Were seeking a Sales Representative who thrives on connecting with industry leaders, uncovering new opportunities, and driving business growth across critical infrastructure markets.
About the Role
As a Sales Representative - Energy & Utilities Staffing with MATRIX, youll be at the forefront of expanding our footprint across nuclear energy, power generation, transmission & distribution, renewable energy, data center, and industrial infrastructure markets. Youll identify and qualify new leads, engage directly with utilities, EPCs, OEMs, and service providers, and help strengthen MATRIXs position as a trusted workforce solutions partner. This role focuses on early-stage business development, pipeline growth, and lead qualification, working closely with Account Managers and internal teams to transition opportunities into long-term client relationships.
What Youll Do
Research and identify new business opportunities across energy and industrial markets.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients using MATRIXs CRM system (HubSpot).
Track and analyze market trends, outage schedules, construction cycles, and modernization programs to uncover high-value opportunities.
Collaborate with Marketing to refine lead targeting, campaigns, and messaging.
Proactively engage prospective clients through calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and industry events.
Represent MATRIX at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
Qualify and prioritize leads to ensure alignment with MATRIXs scope of supply and growth objectives.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records for all leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
Track KPIs and provide regular pipeline updates and reports to leadership.
Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.
Work closely with Business Development to align outreach with strategic priorities.
Partner with Recruiting and Account Management to ensure business development aligns with delivery capacity.
Support Marketing initiatives and provide feedback to improve outreach effectiveness.
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or marketing within energy, utilities, industrial services, construction, renewables, and/or nuclear-related industries.
Established professional network within one or more of these sectors.
Strong research and analytical skills to identify and pursue new market opportunities.
Proven ability to build relationships with technical and executive-level stakeholders.
The ability to communicate well both verbally and written as a business necessity to ensure the safe and efficient operations of business. Clear, concise and effective fluency in the English language is essential.
Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred).
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
Ability and willingness to travel to client sites and industry events as needed.
Working knowledge of MATRIXs scope of supply or ability to quickly learn and articulate it.
