TVA Per Diem: $1,500 / month

Project Type: Nuclear Projects - Outage Planning & Execution Support

Position Description
Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of instrumentation and controls (I&C) engineering work as part of a major project or a total project of moderate scope.
Performs work that involves conventional I&C engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
The role requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area, as well as a good knowledge of and practices of related specialties. As a fully competent I&C engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter, the individual plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Devises new approaches to problems encountered and applies professional engineering judgment to resolve technical challenges. Requires sufficient professional experience to ensure competence as a fully trained worker.
Provides procurement support and field engineering support, including walkdowns, modifications/maintenance activities, and testing support.

Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise or coordinate the work of multidiscipline engineers, CAD technicians, technicians, and others assisting with specific assignments.

Required Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another related engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum
• Appropriate continuing education

Experience
• Sufficient professional engineering experience to perform as a fully competent I&C engineer
• Experience supporting engineering design, field activities, and testing in a nuclear or industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Membership in professional and technical societies

Additional Requirements
• Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access
• Must be able to obtain and maintain S-3 and S-4 medical qualifications, when applicable
