Job Title: Principal Engineer - Electrical Design Engineer (2 positions)

Duration: One (1) year with the option to extend for two (2) additional one (1) year option periods

Location: Aiken, SC 100% onsite (Local candidates or willing to relocate at candidate's expense)

Work Schedule: 6:45 AM - 5:15 PM EST, Monday - Thursday

Summary:
We are seeking two (2) qualified Principal Engineers to provide electrical design engineering staff augmentation support. The successful candidates will perform engineering analysis, construction support, walkdowns, design development, and generation of design output documents in support of nuclear facility operations.

Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years' experience, OR
Master's degree with 8+ years' experience, OR
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' experience
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering

Required Skills & Experience:
Ten (10) years of design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry
Working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, and OSHA requirements
Experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate electrical system calculations
Ability to perform weekly field walkdowns involving construction sites with uneven surfaces, walking distances over half a mile, climbing ladders, and dressing out in protective clothing
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance
Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE/NNSA

Primary Responsibilities:
Define scope of technical programs and develop effective, quality solutions to complex challenges
Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS
Engineering analysis, construction support, walkdowns, and design development
Generate design output documents including: Single Line Drawings, Electrical Equipment Lists, Control System Design, Control Schematics and Connection Diagrams, Electrical Equipment Specifications, Bulk Material Specifications, Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design, Grounding and Heat Tracing, Fire Detection, Short Circuit Calculations, Arc Flash Incident Energy Analysis, Load Flow Analysis, and Electrical System Sizing Calculations
Apply advanced technical practices to resolve complex problems
Provide leadership and expertise in electrical engineering functional areas
Monitor schedules, budgets, and quality of work performed
Communicate results and objectives to customers, colleagues, and management

Preferred Qualifications:
Active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years
SRS Design Engineering or DOE facility experience
Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software
