Spectra Tech is in need of a Health and Safety/Industrial Hygienist in Oak Ridge, TN.

We are in need of a safety and health professional with a strong background in Industrial Hygiene.

A Safety and Health Professional with an Industrial Hygiene focus (often an Industrial Hygienist) identifies, evaluates, and controls workplace hazards (chemical, physical, biological, ergonomic) using science and engineering to protect worker health, involving tasks like air sampling, exposure assessment, implementing controls (ventilation, PPE), training, and ensuring OSHA compliance, bridging safety principles with health science.

Key Responsibilities

Hazard Assessment: Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and identify hazards like toxic chemicals, noise, radiation, and biological agents in the work environment.
Monitoring & Sampling: Conduct air sampling, noise monitoring, and inspect worksites to measure exposure levels and determine hazard severity.
Control Implementation: Develop and recommend engineering controls, work practices, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to eliminate or reduce exposures.
Program Development: Create and manage health and safety programs, policies, and training for employees.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA, federal, and state health and safety regulations.
Reporting: Prepare detailed reports, analyze data, and present findings to management and stakeholders.
Incident Investigation: Review accidents and incidents to prevent recurrence.

Core Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or related field.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial hygiene principles, OSHA regulations, and control methods.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with monitoring equipment, data analysis, and safety software.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

CIH is preferred.
